View Full Version : Suit against God tossed over lack of address
LINCOLN, Neb. - A judge has thrown out a Nebraska legislator's lawsuit against God, saying the Almighty wasn't properly served, because of his unlisted home address. State Sen. Ernie Chambers filed the lawsuit last year seeking a permanent injunction against God.
He said God has made terroristic threats against the senator and his constituents in Omaha, inspired fear and caused "widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants."

The judges reason for dismissal is brilliant.
However, Chambers makes a good point about the hole in the ruling:
The court itself acknowledges the existence of God. A consequence of that acknowledgment is a recognition of God's omniscience.
I'm not sure how the acknowledgement of a "God" would be a recognition of the omniscience of that being—this would depend on the states particular belief of what that "God" is or is not. For instance a deist, which a number of the founders were, would not believe in a "God" who was omniscient.
If I was Chambers I would sue the Catholic Church, more money.

Brilliant!
Why do we have the same address in a Google search?
Looks like you two are going to have to duke it out. There can be only one. ;)

Probably off running the Universe. You'd have better odds of finding Waldo. ;)
