The Pirates off the coast of Somalia are making a killing in ransoms. What do you feel should be done to stop them?
Should we continue to negotiate with these people?
Depends on how badly the Ukrainian operators want their ship back in an operable form.
I'm hopeful we've already deployed some DARPA folks with various test weapons: preferably the one that makes you all kinds of gay for your fellow unwashed Somali pirate, or the one that makes you crap yourself (the Brown Noise is real, right?)
What the hell else are international waters good for, if not that?

No.
If you are sending ships through that area, they should be armed to the teeth and should be blowing the pirates out of the water.
Paying ransom just encourages more piracy.
That seems fine in international waters, but what happens when they doc with an arsenal of illegal weapons?
