On other websites I've visited recently there seems to be no question about the benefits of government job creation, even if it just amounts to providing grants for people to shovel sand back and forth from one pile into another. The only points worthy of consideration are whether the workers are well-organized, and if they should refer to themselves as syndicalists or mutualists.

And as the subsequent production is concerned it equates to building pyramids in GDP. At least it is voluntary servitude if one accepts such a job and not involuntary, right?

Yes, it's voluntary. The economic pioblem is that wealth (money/goods and services) produced by productive people is transferred to people who are not contributing anything worthwhile. Another problem is that free people tend to be industrious and creative and thus, productive, while people who are badgered by authoritarians tend to be resentful and "lazy".
