The focus as of late has been on whether or not Sarah Palin is qualified to be Vice President, and possibly, considering McCain's advanced years and medical history, President.

This has undoubtedly taken quite a bit of heat off of Joe Biden.

What do you feel are his strengths and weaknesses?

Ok personally, I am disappointed that McCain hasn't chosen Joe Lieberman as his running mate. I think he gave in to what political advisors told him and think that choosing a female running mate was his main incentive for the choice he has made.
You're absolutely right, Biden does no longer look like as bad as a choice because of it, but the words he once spoke about Obama and McCain will resonate and I believe most people are smart enough to realize that what he said about both back then was how he felt, and what he says now is simply a part of the game.
